It’s my first year of covering the JESC, and all through November, I’m bringing you all the info on each song this year, and some background info on the song, artist, songwriters, and such.  As of today, all 12 songs have been spotlighted (intended 13th participant Armenia withdrew from the contest on November 5), and later this week, I will announce my choices ranked in order of my personal preference.

EUROVISION: It’s Dadi Freyr Day!

It’s EUROVISION DAY – well, it WOULD BE, if this year’s contest hadn’t been cancelled. But we’ll make it up to you – I’ve got lots of stuff today, and we’re kicking off today’s festivities with a special – it’s DADI FREYR DAY! Freyr won my top spot this year and by all accounts online (except for one or two partypooping deniers out there, heh heh) was on his way to winning ESC 2020 for his home country Iceland with his delightful little ditty “Think About Things“. VIRAL VIDEO: JACK’S BACK, BABY!!!

With very little fanfair or early notice to both his fans and the fans of the late, lamented Australia’s Got Talent, 2011 winner Jack Vidgen appeared unexpectedly as an auditionee during the blind auditions of The Voice Australia last week….and listen to the reaction of the fans…and of three of the four judges (poor Boy George had no idea WHO he was watching) on the show. Jack has never hidden WHY he left the business abruptly at age 17, but for the first time, he described it in detail…and OMG if this young man with the truly heaven-sent golden voice
