Rolling Stone launches new daily and weekly charts

Well, earlier this year, Rolling Stone magazine announced it was going to take on Billboard and launch its own chart system, and that day has come to pass! The Rolling Stones Charts section made it’s debut on July 1. The Rolling Stone Charts are a group of charts, most updated daily and summarized weekly, that track both singles tracks and album sales, the top 500 artists, the top trending songs, and the top breakthrough artists. Some of the charts are done on a daily basis – those tracking sales and play – and other are updated on a weekly or

::AHEM:: “CHART”-ING A COURSE FOR THE FUTURE…

Yes, I know…TERRIBLE pun…but also irresistible…heh heh heh… As of earlier this week, the TKR Classic Charts have concluded posting for now. You can now access full weekly charts from 1980 through 1993, warts and all, and I urge you to read my write-ups for each year, and send comments and memories of some of the songs listed.  I am still hoping beyond hope that the charts from 1978 and 1979 will turn up somewhere…I am beginning to fear they may be lost, but hopefully not… I have also recently posted a page in the “Classic Charts” section called “The

IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING! The TKR Classic Charts are coming online!

You know, it has taken me almost a decade to get to this point, and I apologize for that. It’s only because I wanted to present things in the best possible way, and I’ve been trying to come up with a cool and fancy way to bring my old classic charts online. First, I thought it would be cool to reenter them on new grids with cool new logos and such…but that proved to be impossibly time consuming, especially with all I have going throughout the PNRNetworks family. Then, I thought, i’ll scan the charts in and use OCR to

EURO-TRAVESTY: Logo drops Eurovision as Madonna signs on as special guest

NOOOOOOOO! Say It’s Not So! Deadline is reporting this morning that the Logo cable network has dropped U.S. coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest finals this year, despite a net gain of 10,000 viewers for the live broadcast of the 2018 finals, which saw Israel’s Netta take top honors with her infectious hit “Toy“, which became a worldwide smash, including here in the U.S. where it hit the top of the Billboard Dance chart last September. After being hugely popular around the world for six decades, the cable broadcaster became the first U.S. Network to carry the show in 2016,

Back To Life…well. sort of…

Ok well, that was fun wasn’t it? 🙂 I’d planned the site to be down for just a week, and instead it has been down for almost two months, sorry about that! And everything STILL isn’t done – but we’re getting there! First up, I hope everyone likes the revamped look of the site, with news headers for the current stuff on the top, and more precise classification is coming soon. The TKR charts STILL aren’t caught up completely, but they’re getting there! The current TKR chart will be up to date completely by the end of the month. I’ll

ANOTHER NEW YEAR AND STILL MILES BEHIND…

Another new year is here and if you’ve been reading the posts being posted on all our sites, you know that we were struck with a massive computer failure two weeks ago. The last two weeks have been hell, trying to get back up to speed on all the various sites, and TKR has suffered the most. At the time of the crash, I was almost caught up with the charts, and it is my intention to be caught up with all of them by the end of this coming weekend.   Then, once they’re all finished, I will keep them

SITE UPDATE: Still slowly chugging along

We are now in day eight of PNR’s catastrophic system crash, and over the weekend, some slow progress has been made. I did make the discovery that it was NOT hard drive failure that caused the crash, but a power supply failure. So thankfully most of our stuff is still intact, even if I can’t get to it right now. I’ve got about 50 programs to redownload and reinstall now, since Carbonite’s backup was woefully under-supplied – I really need to keep a much closer eye on this. Also, the new machine is giving me all kinds of fits, insisting

Site update: Still chugging along with the rebuild

Well, in case you missed the earlier post, our old PC completely died last Sunday afternoon. It has now been replaced by a much, MUCH more powerful computer – to aid with audio and video projects, I invested in a nice system normally used for gaming purposes. And man, does it ever purrr along… Except when it comes to reinstalling the back up…which is taking FOREVER…. Carbonite tells me “a few days” – at this writing, when I’ve had the new box up and running for over 24 hours, we’re only 6% into the rebuild. And I have been advised

2019: New year my ASS…

So much for starting off 2019 with a bang… We have spent the past SIX WEEKS planning our new year’s launch – three brand new shows, a new Patreon structuring, a bunch of new fresh columns… So of course…disaster hits… We had JUST wrapped recording on the first new Subject:CINEMA of 2019, our annual preview show…it was fun and hilarious and we knew it was going to be great… I clicked “save” and the shows supposedly saved…and then…nothing. The screen suddenly went totally black. No noise, no warning, no anything. Main hard drive failure. TOTAL COMPLETE FAILURE. And I mean
